This is a very important point that is probably the source of confusion, and people quickly ditching OpenShot because of installing it through apt. This is exactly what happened to me: started using it from the distro and experienced crashes. Then downloaded the latest AppImage and never had a problem since. Trying to help break the vicious circle here: Wikipedia mentions stability issues, Debian ships with a crash-happy old version that doesn't do it any favor, but latest AppImage seems stable. |
