Counterfeits are only counterfeit when you take them to the bank. As long as you can pass them on to someone else, they still have value. Don't quote me on this, but I remember reading a good example. In the U.S. Waiters and waitresses frequently tip (and willingly accept) counterfeit notes from others who work in the industry. At the next opportunity, they pass them on by doing the same. If anyone can find a good citation for this please feel free to add. |
