When you have the urge to self-destruct, reach out and do something nice for someone else. It can be small, like wishing someone a Merry Christmas, or buying a stranger a coffee. Rinse and repeat as necessary.

Also:

- Exercise regularly

- Maintain a regular sleeping schedule

- Eat healthy (recognize when you are self-medicating with food)

- Make an extra effort to groom yourself (wear cologne, shave daily, clip your nails)
