Lots of modular homes (and many mobile homes) exceed the 8.5x53 envelope. When you're already doing all the stuff required to move a house or a significant chunk of a house getting an additional piece of paper (oversize permit) doesn't really up the complexity and cost all that much. Other than that I agree with what you've said. |
