Vietnam was almost as expensive as the (second) Iraq war after adjusting for inflation... It's difficult to compare exact figures though since the Iraq war, the the "war on terror" (i.e., Afghanistan, Africa, etc.), and the post-war occupation costs are usually consolidated together. Currently that number stands at roughly $2.2 trillion (and Vietnam at roughly $700 billion, inflation-adjusted). |
