I thought that that kind of toxic culture just surrounded the political parties but by the looks of it is a basic part of the American (business) culture. If a big company like that has employees like that (i.e. without conscience) we're in for a ride.

from a non US perspective, lets say "cruel bussiness culture" is usually associated with american companies. The main thing that seems to foster suchs an enviroment is the lack of worker represenation in US companies.

concepts like works councils[1] seem totally foreign to many US companies.
