Yeah, however that is exactly why C compiler vendors did embrace C++, and it got a foothold in OS SDKs. Had Bjarne not taken that decision and C++ would having drinks with Modula-2, Pascal, Oberon and others. So it was both a bless and a curse. Rust seems to be increasingly adopted in spite of being different, so lets see when it gets a nice OS SDK sweet spot. |
