This article reminds me of how undergrad economics is taught. 1. Assume humans have a known, unchanging utility function that can be globally maximized, and assume they maximize it at all times 2. Lay out a whole bunch of reasons why this makes no sense 3. Ignore #2 and proceed to build a whole theory on #1 |
