This paper describes the effect of Xenon on plants: "Anaesthetics stop diverse plant organ movements, affect endocytic vesicle recycling and ROS homeostasis, and block action potentials in Venus flytraps" > Xenon was effective at different levels of responses, such as seed germination, chlorophyll accumulation, ROS production and vesicle recycling. > Plant sensitivity to anaesthetics might help to reveal
elusive mechanisms of their actions. It is puzzling how
such chemically and physically diverse compounds, including
the chemically inert gas xenon, the volatile organic solvent
ether and water-soluble molecule such as lidocaine, can induce
