The best way out of it may well be to force yourself when you're uncomfortable... Give presentations at tech user groups, as an example. It's uncomfortable, but if you do it a few times, it gets easier. Just make certain you have time to prepare, practice and leave 1/5 to 1/6 of your time for questions at the end and/or interruptions for questions. Avoiding interaction, will only make you less comfortable with them over time, then the next thing you know, you're well into your senior years and lonely. The one thing you do want to be aware of is not talking too much in social situations... ask questions and listen. |
