My advice would be to choose your battles, because you can't win them all. There are many ways to accomplish most tasks and sometimes good enough is good enough. That being said, it's OK to have high standards. I've found myself in similar situations in the past and I discovered it's helpful to look at code reviews as a learning experience for everyone. If you find yourself reviewing truly horrendous code, it's an opportunity for you to develop your patience, teaching, and communication skills. |
