Yes, absolutely. It's a very mature and productive framework with a vibrant community built up around it. It integrates with webpack so you can have whatever frontend you like. There's plenty of work. Performance and scalability are big focuses for the future Ruby and Rails, respectively, which covers most people's gripes.

It never hurts to know a few tools, but at the end of the day if you need to crank out a webserver Rails is top notch.
