Ask HN: Do companies like Datastax or Elastic hire contributors?

I am looking to become a part time contributor to softwares like Elasticsearch and Cassandra, do these company prefer hiring people who contribute ? I am looking to improve my engineering and wanted to be hired as Remote employee them as well. Any help would be appreciated.
