Dude, Wordpress supports RSS, and it powers the web. For those that use it, RSS works just fine.

RSS is the norm and about as obsolete as HTML. It only fails to exist in half-assed greenfield projects and sites like Twitter where the management has decided you must follow and interact in very limited ways.
