This is not about maximizing profit, it is about distributing a scarce resource. The simple fact is that not everyone who wants to go to the concert is going to be able to. How do you decide who gets to go and who doesn't? How would you design a system to do this? All of them have a ton of flaws, but I have yet to hear a system that can beat a market. |
