An extract from an email I recieved from BA after their latest breach:

If you accepted the free membership, you waived your rights to sue them. It was in the agreement.

I always figured that the smarter scammers would just wait 15 months and THEN use the data, or even sell it to (many) others that would.
15 months is enough time to change your mother's maiden name and the name of your first pet.
