The payments are not a donation, they are earned by helping provide the Tidelift Subscription service (the set of tasks and responsibilities enumerated at https://tidelift.com/docs/lifting/tasks-overview ). If someone earns the money it's theirs and they can send it anywhere they want, charities for sure are an option.

This makes sense. So if I cannot “earn” money for my contributions, I just wouldn’t sign up to be a lifter and my project would not be included in your program.
