Apple does a lot of low level design work in the electronics, sensors, and AI space. They even work in the automotive space already with Apple CarPlay. (https://www.apple.com/ios/carplay/) There are few companies that can afford to invest ~5 billion on a project that might be worth 10+x that or might be worth nothing. So, it’s both less of a stretch then you might think and less of a gamble than most other companies in this space are making. |
