I’m currently staying at an Airbnb in London. For breakfast, I walked to the nearby neighborhood market and bought veggies and eggs, then came “home” and made breakfast. After that, I took the trash out, threw on some clean clothes from the dryer I had loaded the night before, stepped outside and now I’m walking through Hyde Park on my way to a coffee shop, where I plan to spend most of my afternoon. Later this evening I’ll be hosting a few friends at “home” where we will drink whisky and play card games in the living room and catch up on life. Most hotels, in stark contrast, provide a very sterile environment that is completely isolated from the city’s culture and lifestyle. |
