I do not think it is plausible that, for most complex abstract things, there must be an icon that intuitively represents it. The most you can hope for is that the icons are sufficiently distinctive and memorable that a frequent user would come to recognize them without confusing one for another.

I am more bothered by names that do not give you any clue as to what they are about, though there is also a limit to the amount of information you can put in a name.
