Why would someone use this instead of IDLE, which ships with Python and does the same things?

IDLE has lots of problems for beginners, isn't accessible for certain users and is a difficult code base to change.

Mu is largely based upon the feedback given to the Raspberry Pi Foundation from teachers and students who have used IDLE.
