The first few minutes are when the audience is most attentive, so don't waste it but jump right in with a motivating example or whatever is the most interesting thing about your talk. Then when you have them on the hook you can give them the outline and overview for the rest of the presentation as usual. I got this advice from a presentation given by Simon Peyton-Jones and have always tried to follow it since then.
