Ask HN: Real-life experiences with android and dual-sim?

Hello HN,

I‘m thinking of getting a second mobile number to seperate between work and private.

I don‘t want to handle two different devices so I‘m looking for a device with dual-sim functionality. I‘ve read some stuff about different modes like DSFA (dual sim full active) and DSDS (dual sim dual standby) but I‘ve not found any useful real-life experience reports on a day-to-day basis.

I would like to know if both sim cards can be used completely on it’s own. Some devices like Samsung Galaxy S9 do support 4G/LTE only for one sim card (can be configured which one).

Is it possible to schedule the connectivity of both numbers (work number not reachable before 8 am and after 6 pm)?

Is it possible two have contacts, calendar events, browser favourits, etc. be separated (switch between work and private profile)?
