I think it'd be cool if they open sourced it, but w/ federation built in. So self-hosted public repo's, would call back to ms github, and show up in searches/etc. You can star/comment/etc on github.com even if it's a federated/self-hosted github. That way the social aspect is still there, regardless of if the repo is hosted ON github.com or a remote copy. |
