This is completely false by the way. ProtonVPN is created by the ProtonMail team, which has many CERN scientists on staff. This is public record and can be verified by simply looking at the scientific papers they have published:
This is also not true. ProtonVPN and ProtonMail are not related to NordVPN in any way. The only possible "connection" if you can call it that, is that we might use some of the same server providers (Leaseweb, Amazon, OVH, etc).
ProtonMail CEO Andy Yen (former CERN physicist): http://inspirehep.net/search?ln=en&p=Andy+Yen&of=hb&action_s...
ProtonMail CTO Bart Butler (also former CERN physicist): http://inspirehep.net/search?ln=en&ln=en&p=bart+butler&of=hb...
TED Talk about ProtonMail given by ProtonMail CEO: https://www.ted.com/talks/andy_yen_think_your_email_s_privat...
So the evidence that ProtonMail is run by former CERN researchers is actually quite overwhelming.
