My own learning from some amount of introspection is that I work best when under pressure to perform. This might be due to a hard deadline (missing which has serious costs for me), when long term reputation is on the line, when time is too short, when money is running out etc. When I'm comfortable with my life and relaxed, I tend to slack and mess things up in the long term. |
