UI look really only matters in competitive consumer markets.

In B2B spaces where there are limited competitors and vastly different levels of investment involved for the users, the UI largely becomes irrelevant as long as it works.

I have evaluated b2b on a regular basis, features matter, but UI absolutely matter to me when I make a recommendation. If it looks like shit from the 90s I won't even put it on the list. If it doesn't have a solid UI it's a nonstarter.

I've recommended other b2b services over Salesforce because they have such a shitty UI and it worked out nicely.

There's a lot of other reasons to run the other direction from Salesforce. Ugh, their REST api...
While I hated their stupid custom software I think it worked over rest API. That was probably was a better feature they had, which isn't saying a lot.
