Just to add to the anecdotes in here. I had my tonsils removed at about the age of three and never suffered any particular consequences.

For perspective. I had horrible health that plagued me until I was about 20. Whether that's got anything to do with the butchering, I have no idea.

Had adenoids removed, and suffer from runny nose and (fortunately relatively mild) allergies all my life. Never occurred to me before it could be related.

Same here, I had them removed at the same age and never had an issue related to allergies or anything serious.
