I'm of the mind that AMD's smaller cores working together is the secret sauce to their price advantage. Intel has done an amazing done stuffing 28 cores into one piece of silicon and extracting as much performance as possible all for the low price of $10k. AMD took their 8 core part that they are selling essentially up and down their product line... and slapped 4 of them together. |
