And you forgot to add that Python is the "de facto" language used by google, along with C/C++ for their whole mind boggling distributed computing system. They even have hired Guido Van Rossum, the creator of Python.

I don't think Python is the "de facto" language at Google. They also use Java extensively. And anyways, who cares what Google uses? The OP isn't trying to get a job at Google, he's just trying to get some work done.
