We are working on rolling out containerd 1.1 to GKE alpha cluster. If everything goes as expected, it will be available in GKE alpha cluster soon.

Kubernetes 1.10 just came out on GKE, so I assume it should work today!

The fact that A is tested to work with B doesn't necessarily mean that a packaged service will provide both A and B, though.

I don't see it mentioned in the GKE release notes, so I assume there's no option to enable it yet.
