Text based browsers have had this option for ages, though some say they copied it from printers. Notably this doesn't help with food, I've been only buying greyscale (Rice, Oreos, Guinness, etc.) for a while now and my mindless consumption hasn't dropped. |

You need to take them out of the original packaging and put them in a greyscale container as well.
