He doesn’t understand that the toy apps that are barely usable by enthusiasts today improve rapidly until using them is mundane and normal. On a non-sarcastic note the toy that’s barely usable by hobbyists is the early adopter segment, after the innovators. There’s a reasonable explanation at businessdictionary.
