It's harder work, if that's what you're asking. People who wish for more work/life balance do tend to migrate to Virgin Galactic, etc. Of course, less lucrative stock options and less exciting work.
Huge upside potential, too. Musk is really good at spotting opportunities and taking risks. The downside is he often doesn't know how to leave well enough alone and he takes risks. I think SpaceX does so well because Gwynne Shotwell helps balance Musk's risk taking.
Tesla could go bankrupt (as GM and others have) or it could be worth a huge amount of money if they crack automation and scale (and there are good technical reasons why they might actually do that... traditional automakers have not exhausted the trade space).
