- 2. Take a photo of it

Sometimes:

- 3. Rewrite at destination

Always:

- 4. Rewrite every few days

Yeah I do a similar thing except with a dry erase marker on the refrigerator. Being able to open a photo of my to-do without going through some stupid app saves a ton of aggravation.
