On 32-bit versions of Windows, EDIT (the MS-DOS Editor) reads Unix file endings fine. So finally notepad reached feature-parity with that one... I am not sure, when they introduced it. It might be that it happened in Windows 95, when edit became a stand-alone program.
Not sure if the QBasic-based editor in DOS 6.22 or earlier supported it. |
