I think salary notifications in general are a sign of the company compensating in a fundamentally unfair way. Unless you are being hired to negotiate, paying you based on your negotiation skills seems unfair. It's harder -- a lot harder -- but I'd encourage the CEOs reading this to create a compensation scheme that is "fair by design" and pays correctly without the need to negotiate.
