We run background checks, and there is definitely a space for public record aggregation.

We directly interface with those interested in the results of the check, and there is an overwhelming amount of work in building integrations with schools, applicant tracking systems, hospitals, public records, courts...

We spend most of our time building XML and JSON parsers to cram their data into our models.

If there was a company that provided a single interface to this data, you could write your own ticket. I know we aren't the only company in this space with this issue.

Interesting problem to solve - guess the pain will be when all the data sources change their endpoints and everything sort of breaks. At least that's been my experience with aggregating public economic data feeds.
Does Checkr (https://checkr.com/) solve this problem? Or is it more complicated than that?
May I ask, how does that work with Privacy concerns? I am aware banks run background checks before you open an account. But I always assumed that the "checker provider" has a licence.
I think Socrata (now acquired by Tyler Technologies) was maybe tackling some of these challenges?
How broad would a vendor's coverage need to be on day 1 to be valuable for you?
shoot me an email with some more info, may be able to help you out
