Yup, I've got one who will get up with me no matter how early I get up. The other two will stay in bed with my wife, no matter how late she sleeps in. The only guaranteed way to get all three up is to start pouring food into their bowls... the tell-tale clink-clink of the kibble landing in the bowls catches everyone's attention!
People elsewhere in this discussion have mentioned exercise. I've definitely found that having these guys helps force me to get out and move. Especially the sheltie; if we haven't gone for a walk for a day or two, I'll be working at home and she'll come up and jam her nose into my kidney, over and over. Motivation!
