This may seem off-putting at times, but I believe it is absolutely necessary. When colleagues come to me with questions (which they do a lot), I always ask about the background. And sometimes, I arrive at different conclusions that solve the actual problem with ease. If you expect a quality answer that actually solves the problem, explain everything. Provide clarification when asked to do so. Also, don't assume hostility and be friendly yourself. |
