>I tend to think of basic income as the former without the absolutely massive bureaucratic overhead. That isn't true though. The "universal" part makes it completely different. The only reason we are talking about basic income is because of major shifts in the workforce. It is about a new alternative to jobs if automation supposedly takes them all away. This is different to the current system, which is designed for a small subset of people who do not have the ability to work. |
