I originally had a meetup group and it being local really limited the opportunities. I then switched to building an online Facebook group and scaled that. All of what I do can be done remote so it didn't make sense to limit geographically. If there is no requirement to be onsite, I'd steer clear of meetup. For the same effort you can grow something across the US/outside/etc |
