I disagree. Facebook solves a real problem - finding real people on the internet. Especially at university when you are meeting lots of new people it was really useful and I remember before it existed wishing there was some website where I could look people up.

They've lost their way, sure. But I think they could fix things fairly easily - reduce the amount of advertising, provide a way to hide all "shared" posts and "someone tagged you", "remember this day 5 years ago" etc.

They won't do that but... you know.
