1) is very important for me too. Many people will say 'oh don't take your code so personally' but that just doesn't work for me. When I write something I want to be proud of it and I'm going to feel bad if it doesn't work even if it wasn't my fault or responsibility. Also agree on 3) If a user asks for something 'stupid' you can't just shoo them away. There's a reason they asked and your job is to find out what that reason was - and to come up with a solution for your client that fits the rest of the system. The client may not know what they want but they do know that there's a problem that needs to be addressed somehow. |
