If it’s low cost to run a server (<$100/year) then just the censorship (or maybe just fuckaroundary and bother is a better term than censorship). I got a simple Linux host on a cpanel admined shared server a long time ago for a random purpose. But it’s been very useful just to host stuff rather than bother with whatever free service exists. It’s not strong enough to host this or mastodon or other peer networks, but I think it would be worthwhile for me to pay to have this flexibility. |
