| The idea would be to provide a free newsletter to "Accredited Investors". An "AI" in the US, is someone with: -assets over $1m My main target is someone who is wealthy, eager to invest in start-ups, but is not an investor in the start-up scene / a VC and may even live outside US The newsletter would an opportunity for start-ups to advertise their projects to these accredited investors who have the cash to back them. Start-ups would be able to advertise their projects to investors at a reasonable rate of $1,000-$2,000 for an annual subscription. The benefits to start-ups would be as follows: -advertising space to high net worth individuals at a very reasonable price. (it would also give investors access to a marketing channel which does not currently exist - there's no facebook like page for rich people!) -it would make the search for funding far easier if they were successful -the investors would be global investors outside the silicon valley bubble. They would probably offer more favourable deals than VCs (VCs are notorious for offering crappy deals with hidden clauses) -VCs have heard it all before, making it harder for you to pitch your genius idea to them. The newsletter would open a new channel, giving you access to enthusiastic investors who are excited by your incredible innovations... The big question: Is this something anyone would be interested in? Either as a start-up person, or an investor? |
