Unfortunately ActivityPub (that powers Mastodon) has a lot of incidental complexity (including RSA signatures, JSON-LD, RDF normalizations to quads etc.) But this is a very simple alternative, distributed "Twitter" for hackers: https://github.com/buckket/twtxt#twtxt |
