Online dating is only an accurate caricature of real life. It's a pure numbers game. Instead of 10 guys hitting on the girl you think is cute, now hundreds of them are. I don't know what it means to be closer to real life. The reason your have social less momentum in your day-to-day is because you just don't meet that many people. Also, I'm not sure what increased qualitative behavior would mean in online dating. Sure, there are bozos who just say "hey" to everyone, but those are trivial to filter out. Online dating is a vessel for quickly escalating to a meet-up. I think you should put less importance on the quick-fire internet game because most people don't want to languish there either. People want to meet, fuck, make connections just like you. |
