It seems that the goal was to promote discontent in general. There were anti-Trump activities as well, such as the post-election NYC protest set up on Facebook.

They switched to that after they won, but before the election, they only supported Trump and discredited Hillary it seems.

It would be weird if they had supported Hillary in any significant way before the election.
