The funny thing is I have 3 courses on Docker and I'm a Docker Captain but I pretty much agree with what you wrote about container orchestration. A lot of people forget that you can just put your application up on 1 server and serve hundreds of thousands or millions of requests a month without breaking a sweat. For that type of use case (1 box deploys), Docker is still amazingly useful so I would 100% containerize your apps for that purpose, but I agree, Kubernetes and container orchestration in general is overkill for so many projects. |
